I had so much fun last night, thanks to everyone who should up despite the horrid rain! To me, the night was a total success; old friends and newly met friends sitting around the table going threw a massive pile of magazines and cutting out appealing images and words to ultimately glue on to our own personal vision boards for the upcoming new year. We played Joni Mitchell and the Counting Crows, drank wine, and chatted while doing this relaxing and reflective exercise.
The results? See for yourselves from the pictures I have included. Some awesome work was done!!! I highly recommend making one yourself at home!! Give it a try!!!
>UPDATE on this post: I have been getting press and ORDERS for the Re-Gift! When I wrote this, I was feeling blue because i thought that the scaling back concept was not being taken seriously in this excessive culture we live in!! I am feeling somewhat better and hope to help spread the word of voluntary simplicity!!! I have sort of given up on this product(long story but when Kate's Paperie ordered and then cancelled at the last minute--I got the wind knocked out of me), I need a kick in the butt to get back on track with it. I think there is still merit in it, but I have been so unmotivated to promote it. What is the matter with me?
Karen H. turned me on to this interesting story in the UK(thank you Karen!). Apparently a very talented artist has been etching milk bottles and putting them alongside her neighbors milk deliveries. So some very lucky people wake up and open up their front doors to get their fresh milk and find beautiful pieces of work as well! The story was leaked to the press and the artist, Charlotte Hughes-Martin, has gotten a ton of press and demand for her milk bottles!
Love this story!!!!
Check out Charlotte's website.

We use to walk by this famous red Umbrella everyday and recently I decided that I better take a shot of it before they take it away. Lucky me, because the very next day, they took it away!
Citigroup decided to do away with the umbrella logo after it purchased Traveler's. Citigroup took over Traveler's building and removed both of the umbrellas; this one here in the photo and the one that was on the side of the building.
It has been one of my favorite landmarks I guess because I like simple graphic designs, I'll miss it.
